With Easter just around the corner I’ve been on the hunt for candy-free ideas for my littles class parties and basket stuffers! I’ve seen these carrots before usually stuffed with orange jelly beans, Reese’s peices, orange M&M’s ect. I decided to stuff them with Goldfish crackers for a healthier option to share with friends! Yes I’m sure you could find an organic orange version of “Goldfish” crackers (Annie’s makes one) and that would work too! But to keep within my budget I opted to use whole grain Goldfish for her pre-school party! The end result was darling and a big hit with the littles!
I found these darling orange polka dot cone shaped treat bags by the candy bins at Zurchers. So cute! They were the perfect portion size too. You could use clear also. I’ve seen seasonal treat kits by Wilton at Target and Walmart that would also work.
I grabbed green zig-zag ribbon at Walmart for $1 each. I doubled the ribbon to tie so it was fuller and resembled a carrot top. The entire project cost me less than $10 and we had a blast assembling! My four year-old used a spoon to fill each carrot all by herself and mom tied the ribbon. Goldfish crumbs everywhere…
You will need:
Cone shaped treat bags
2 spools green zig-zag ribbon
Method:
Fill each bag about 3/4 full with crackers and tie with ribbon to close! Easy peasy! Enjoy!
